Ingredients
  • ½ cup + 3 tablespoons softened butter
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • Sea salt, to taste (will need more if using unsalted butter)
Instructions
  1. In a sauce pan over medium heat, melt ½ cup butter. Continue to cook butter, stirring frequently and adjusting temperature as needed, to allow butter to get brown bits on the bottom. Cook until butter becomes a golden brown color and smells nutty, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool until no longer hot. Transfer to a mixing bowl and allow to cool completely. You will want the butter to be solidified, but still at room temperature. Add 3 tablespoons softened butter to the mixing bowl and beat until well combined and mixture is light and fluffy. Add maple syrup and beat until well combined. Stir in salt. Serve or keep refrigerated, bringing to room temperature when ready to serve.
