Ingredients
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh sage
  • ⅓ cup maple syrup
  • 1 puff pastry sheet, thawed
  • 3 apples, thinly sliced
  • 4 tablespoons brown sugar
  • ¼ cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 egg, beaten
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together cream cheese, sage, and maple syrup.
  3. Lay the pastry out on the prepared baking sheet. Using a sharp knife, score the pastry to form about a ½ inch border around the four edges of the pastry. Spread the cream cheese mixture in an even layer on the inside of the scored border. Fan out apple slices, and arrange on top of the cream cheese. Sprinkle tart with brown sugar and walnuts. Brush the outer border of the pastry with the beaten egg.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until pastry is golden brown and cooked through, and apples are tender. Remove from oven. Allow to cool and then slice and serve.
